Position Description The Quality Assurance Analyst Intern is responsible for assisting in the testing and quality control of software applications by executing manual test cases, identifying bugs, reporting defects, and collaborating with development teams to ensure the product meets established quality standards, while gaining hands-on experience in the software development lifecycle under the guidance of senior QA analysts; key tasks include creating test cases, performing functional and regression testing, logging defects in a tracking system, and contributing to overall quality improvement initiatives.
Essential Duties: Test Case Design and Execution:
• Review user stories and requirements to develop comprehensive test cases.
• Execute manual test cases across various functionalities and scenarios.
• Perform exploratory testing to uncover potential issues not covered by existing test cases.
Defect Reporting:
• Accurately log defects in a bug tracking system with detailed descriptions, steps to reproduce, and expected behavior.
• Prioritize and categorize defects based on severity and impact.
• Collaborate with developers to understand and resolve identified issues.
• Regression Testing:
• Execute regression test suites to ensure new code changes do not introduce regressions in existing functionalities.
Test Documentation:
• Maintain detailed test reports summarizing test execution results, defect logs, and quality metrics.
Collaboration:
• Participate in daily stand-up meetings and sprint planning sessions with the development team.
• Actively communicate testing progress and findings to stakeholders.
Learning and Development:
• Stay updated with the latest QA methodologies, tools, and technologies.
• Shadow senior QA analysts to gain in-depth knowledge of the testing process.
Minimum Qualifications: Education : Must be a student in high school or other educational institution or accepted into a college, university or educational institution.
Other Conditions :
- Must be at least 16 years of age, a student currently enrolled in high school or any institution of higher education to include a trade/vocational school.
- Employees at least 18 years of age with valid driver's license may be assigned driving duties and may use power tools.
Competencies: • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Basic understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC)
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly
• Good communication and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications: • Currently enrolled in a computer science or related degree program
• Prior experience with software testing or quality assurance is a plus
• Familiarity with test management tools like Jira or similar
• Basic knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Python, Java) is beneficial
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: - Subject to environmental conditions; protection from weather but not temperature changes
- Light work: Lift up to 20 lbs at a time and frequently lift or carry objects up to 10 lbs

- Standing-prolonged periods of time
- Repetitive Motion-substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
