Job Description:
NBCUniversal’s KXAS is seeking a highly motivated and driven News Reporter to join its team in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. In this role, you will gather, investigate, and report breaking news, delivering compelling content across multiple platforms, including on-air, online, and streaming.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for investigative journalism and experience covering law enforcement, with a proven ability to build strong sources within the community. We’re looking for someone who thrives in a breaking news environment, excels under tight deadlines, and consistently pitches unique and impactful enterprise stories.

Basic Qualifications:
-Minimum 5 years of television reporting experience
-Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
-Proven track record of live reporting and strong storytelling skillset
-Proven experience working on investigative stories
-Experience building deep sources in community
-The ability to collaborate across broader newsroom
-Excellent writing skillset
-Excellent communication and time management skills
-Experience contributing to non-linear platforms
-Must be able to handle intense deadline pressure
-Must be able to ad-lib effortlessly in various types of situations, particularly breaking news

Desired Characteristics:
-Bilingual in English & Spanish reading, speaking, and writing
-General assignment reporting skills preferred
-Ability to enterprise stories
-Experience with digital editing and photography a plus
-Experience working simultaneously on web products
-Strong knowledge of social networking in regard to content gathering and distribution

Eligibility Requirements:
-Must be willing to work in Fort Worth, TX, just south of DFW airport
-Must submit a video/reel/demo of work to be considered
-Must have a valid driver’s license
-Must be 18 years or greater
-Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
-Must be able to work long hours and a variety of shifts, when necessary
-Must accept Solutions as NBCUniversal’s Alternative Dispute Resolution program
