Job Posting: Breakfast & Short Order Cook The Groves Senior Living – Goodyear, AZ Are you a talented and passionate cook who loves creating delicious meals and bringing joy to others? At The Groves Senior Living, we’re looking for a Breakfast & Short Order Cook to join our Dining Services Team! In this role, you’ll primarily work a 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM schedule, focusing on cooking breakfast to order, preparing daily lunch specials, and creating short-order menu items. However, flexibility is key—schedules may occasionally vary based on the needs of the community, including afternoon shifts from 10:30 AM - 7:00 PM. During afternoon shifts, responsibilities will include preparing daily specials for the evening meal, assisting on the cook line during lunch service, prepping for future meals, and completing normal closing responsibilities. Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook breakfast to order for our residents and guests during morning shifts.
• Create daily lunch specials and short-order menu items that are nutritious and flavorful.
• During afternoon shifts, prepare daily specials for the evening meal, assist with lunch service, complete meal prep for upcoming days, and handle normal closing responsibilities.
• Ensure high standards of food quality, presentation, and service.
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, following all health and safety guidelines.
• Collaborate with the Dining Services team to create a welcoming, uplifting dining experience.

Qualifications:

• Culinary Skill: Must be a good cook, capable of preparing delicious, nutritious, and attractive meals.
• Problem Solving: Must have the knowledge and skill to adapt if the kitchen is out of something—whether that means making something from scratch or finding a suitable alternative.
• Communication: Must communicate clearly and kindly with service staff, ensuring dining operations run smoothly and efficiently.
• Certification: ServSafe Food Manager Permit or equivalent preferred.
• If not certified, a Food Handler Permit is required with the ability to obtain a Manager Permit within 30 days of hire.
• Proven cooking experience in breakfast and short-order environments preferred.
• Strong culinary skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to adjust your schedule to meet the needs of the community.
• A warm, positive attitude with a passion for service.
