St. Margaret's Center , an affiliate of the Center for Disability Services, is a 94-bed pediatric and young adult skilled nursing facility located in Albany, NY. Founded in 1883, St. Margaret's Center serves medically fragile infants, children, and young adults on a single, dedicated campus.

We specialize in providing innovative, long-term, 24-hour medical care in a nurturing, home-like environment. At St. Margaret's , residents are seen as kids first-not conditions. Our focus is on creating a full childhood experience that includes activities, education, family involvement, friendships, and community connections.

As an Activities Assistant , you will support the Resident Life team in providing therapeutic recreation programs and meaningful experiences for residents at St. Margaret's Center. These programs are designed to enhance each child's cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development while promoting joy, engagement, and quality of life.

What will I do as an Activities Assistant?

• Assist with planning and facilitating therapeutic recreation activities
• Support residents' participation in programs that promote growth and development
• Follow established care plans and safety guidelines
• Communicate clearly and effectively with residents, families, and team members

Requirements for an Acitivites Assistant:

• Ability to follow directions and communicate clearly
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of one (1) year of related experience, preferably providing care and recreational programming for individuals with developmental disabilities
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
• Must be at least 18 years of age
