Overview
Workforce1 is seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Tax Preparer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of accounting principles. This role involves preparing and filing tax returns for individuals and businesses, ensuring compliance with tax regulations while providing exceptional service to our clients. The Tax Preparer will utilize various accounting software to analyze financial data and assist clients in optimizing their tax situations.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and file federal and state tax returns for individuals and businesses.
  • Analyze financial information to ensure accurate reporting and compliance with tax laws.
  • Review clients' financial records, including income statements, balance sheets, and other documentation.
  • Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks and Sage to manage client data effectively.
  • Communicate with clients to gather necessary information and clarify any discrepancies.
  • Stay updated on current tax laws, regulations, and best practices to provide informed advice.
  • Assist clients with tax planning strategies to minimize liabilities.
  • Maintain confidentiality of client information and adhere to ethical standards.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in accounting or tax preparation is preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data accurately.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage) and financial software tools.
  • Excellent mathematical skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Strong communication skills for effective client interactions.
  • Knowledge of technical accounting principles and financial sales is a plus.
  • A degree in Accounting or a related field is desirable but not mandatory.
