Job Description
o The primary duties of the sort line sorter include:
o Sorting material into each individual bunker depending on grade of material
o Executing housekeeping duties
o Active participation in the Health and Safety Programs.
Maintenance Responsibilities: Daily maintenance check performed, paperwork filled out and turned in. Sort line must blow out the radiator and intake filters daily for the sort line air compressor and is responsible for cleanliness of the overall sort line. The metering drum will have all wrapped material removed weekly. If cleaning materials are needed see maintenance. Equipment breakage or in need of repair fill out a maintenance request form and contact maintenance.
Housekeeping Responsibilities: include keeping stairways and passageways clean to prevent slip/trip/and fall hazards. Clean up of the perimeter of the building and office will be performed daily. Batteries and metal should be removed from the sort line daily and placed in the appropriate area. Needles found on the sort line will be removed from the line immediately and placed in the appropriate sharps container.
PPE Requirements: Hard hat, safety glasses, steel toe shoes, hi vis clothing over the torso, hearing protection, HexArmor AG8TW or 1012 arm guards, and HexArmor 9014 gloves.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
o On average, lifts of less than 1 pound will be performed 10+ times every minute for more than 2 hours per day.
o On average, lifts of 10 or more pounds will be performed every 2-5 minutes for 1 hour or less per day.
Must be able to ascend and descend stairs.
