Position Name: Travel Registered Nurse Psychiatric

Employment Type: Full-time, Travel, Contract, Temporary

Contract Length: 13 weeks-Accepting Local and Travel Candidates

Pay Rate: $2160 to $2232 weekly Gross pay (Non-taxable travel/housing and M&I stipend available for qualified/eligible travelers)

Unit: Inpatient mental health or behavioral health unit/s

Shifts available: Days

Shift timings: 12 Hours; Days, 7.00 am - 7.30pm



Schedule: 36 hours / week guaranteed, 3 shifts per week, Every other weekend

Position Requirements:

• Registered Nurse: 2 years - Required
• Recent/Current Inpatient Acute Psychiatric Nursing or Behavioral health experience: 2 years Required
• Recent/Current experience and comfortable working with Adolescents and patient populations: 1 year Required
• Comfortable with 3-6 days of training/orientation on units - Required
• Cerner EMR Highly preferred (willing to get trained if no experience)

Education, License and Certification Requirements:

• ASN or an equivalent Required
• BSN or an equivalent Highly preferred
• RN License for State of PA if residing in PA - Required (Compact accepted for out of state candidates)
• HWC (Handle with Care) Certification - Preferred
• BLS Certification from AHA or American Red Cross - Required

Job Description:

• Provide and coordinate care by assessing patients' physical and behavioral health needs.
• Working in the assigned units including Adolescents, Adults and Geriatric Behavioral Health units.
• Develop and implement nursing care plans.
• The RN will maintain medical records and educate patients and their families about various physical and behavioral health conditions.
• The RN will provide nursing care and services within the standards and scope of nursing practice as defined within the state Nurse Practice Act regulations, policies, procedures, and protocols, as well as facility and corporate policies and procedures.
• Ensure physicians' orders are legible if taken verbally and transcribed appropriately per policy and procedure.
• Ensure patients' status is assessed on an ongoing basis and pertinent information is gathered and documented.
• Notify physicians of significant changes in status
• The RN will ensure that initial nursing treatment plans are completed upon admission and that all nursing treatment plans are specific to assessed needs.
