This position offers an excellent opportunity to participate in the development and implementation of Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) programming in multiple settings. Principles of ABA serve as the foundation for training and implementation of current research-based practices and strategies to meet the needs of each client in community, clinical, home and educational settings.
The LBA will have excellent assessment, program development, intervention, organizational skills and experience in the treatment/care/education of individuals with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and other developmental disabilities. Mature interpersonal, communication and collaborative skills are essential in order to work effectively with colleagues, schools, staff, ancillary service providers, parents and caregivers in programming that is both comprehensive and family-centered
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Primarily provide ABA programming, training and direct services under the supervision of the Clinical Supervisor.
· Supervise Licensed Assistant Behavior Analysts (LABAs) and Behavior Technicians (BTs) to ensure the training, treatment plans and strategies are delivered with validity and reliability.
· Develop treatment plans for clients that describe the need of treatment, the goals and objectives of skills the client/family will acquire during the treatment, and outlines what treatment and data analysis strategies will be utilized in instruction and monitoring of progress.
· Review records of the client, interview the client and client's family (if available), make direct observation and assessments of client, and determine the appropriate path of treatment for the client.
· Monitor data and make programmatic changes to treatment plans as the LBA deems necessary
· Directly supervise (in person or via telemedicine) a minimum of 5% of the BT's time with clients and client's families.
ADDITIONAL RESPONIBILTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Complete session charge slips in medical billing system within established timeframes;
· Collect and report organizational data within established timeframes (i.e. supervisee training hours for university students, emergency drills, problems with insurance, and waitlist information);
· Participate in and/or supervise caregiver training via in-person or telehealth;
· Assist in research, grants, writing and presentations, as needed;
· Participate in activities/events to support the growth and development of Northwest Autism Center;
· Coordinate with families, staff and other team members to ensure program consistency;
· Provide coordination of care with community services and providers, as appropriate;
· Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
· Must be able to lift and carry clients
· Must be able to assume and maintain a variety of postures (kneeling, squatting, crawling, sitting, standing) for extended periods of time.
· Must be able to sit on the floor or stand for extended periods of time.
· Must be willing and able to restrain/hold/transport and utilize quick body movements in the course of working with children who pose imminent danger to self or other.
· Must have manual dexterity to perform specific computer and electronic device functions for data collection.
· Must be physically present at the assigned job location, which may include home, school, and community placements.
· Must be able to receive detailed information through oral communication.
· Must have visual acuity to read and comprehend written communication through computer, electronic devices, and paper means.
