Solves problems as they arise. • Assists in dining room with meal service for those meals that occur during shift, which may include set-up of dining room, delivering meals, refilling drinks, clearing plates, and clean-up, as assigned. • Demonstrates ability to handle several tasks at the same time while maintaining a calm and efficient demeanor. • Maintains confidentiality if all pertinent information concerning residents and staff. • Is fully knowledgeable of the five evacuation and disaster policy of the community and participates as assigned in fire and disaster drills. • Performs a variety of activity department duties as assigned, which may include some of the following duties: • Assists in planning, preparing and implementing the daily schedule/program for members; ensures members’ involvement in meaningful and enjoyable activities . • Assists and demonstrates assigned duties to volunteers. • Assists in shopping for, maintaining, and controlling inventory of activity equipment and supplies. • Promotes and facilitates good morale and cheerfulness among residents and staff; utilizes appropriate and effective approaches/techniques for serving individuals with dementia. • Provides protective supervision (observing and monitoring) of all residents. • Follows the standards of safety and sanitation within the Center; complies with all related licensing requirements. • Assists in general clean up and maintenance of the Center. • Performs other duties as required Qualifications Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training: or equivalent combination of education and experience. The employee is required to stand, use hands, reach with hands, and climb or balance. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. Good vision is also required.
