Our client is seeking a Test Automation Engineer who is motivated by variety, is seeking a challenging environment for professional growth, and is interested in supporting an Investor-Owned Utility client headquartered in New Jersey. 

A test automation engineer designs and maintains automated tests for applications. Their responsibilities include: Creating and maintaining tests. Using automated test scripts to ensure software performs properly, check for bugs, and streamline repetitive tasks. Evaluating quality. Checking and reporting on the quality of products throughout the production cycle, looking for issues like functionality, speed, and safety Identifying areas for improvement. Familiarizing themselves with current software protocols and customer service processes. Validate test plans, test cases, defects, user scenarios, test scripts, and testing estimates follow the policies and procedures of Testing Center of Excellence( TCoE).

Location: This position is located in Newark, NJ. Qualified candidate must be in a commutable distance  and able to go into the office as needed. This team typically goes into the office 2 + days a week.

Job Responsibilities: 
Build a robust test data management and scripting strategy including:

  • Invest in collecting appropriate data
  • Recognition that single data sets will encompass multiple scenarios
  • Detailed domain knowledge is critical
  • Designing and developing test automation scripts
  • Using test automation guidelines
  • Validation of Test cases across the projects for assurance of complete test coverage
  • Managing Test Environment needs for scripting
  • Researching issues in software through testing
  • Collaborating with QA Analysts and Software Developers to develop solutions
  • Keeping updated with the latest industry developments
  • Integration with CICD and Reporting for test automation
  • Providing support to Release management team and communicate Go-No Go decision for Testing Scripts
Required Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related. Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 3+ year of automation test engineering experience
  • Excellent understanding of and experience in IT project management methodologies.
  • Commanding knowledge of the technical and business issues in any of the following areas: Applications or Infrastructure Architecture, Systems Development, Project or Product Management and Operations/Production support.
  • Proficiency using at least one Gartner-recognized test management application (e.g., ServiceNow, HP Quality Center, HP ALM, JIRA Xray)
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C# or Java etc.
  • Familiar with the following tools: Jenkins, Tosca, selenium, appium and saucelabs.
Preferred Experience:
  • Tosca certification
  • CTFL & other testing certifications
  • ISTQB certifications
  • Test automation Engineering certification

Position Details: 

  • Pay Rate / Range: $30-$39.86

The above salary range represents the range expected for the position; however, final salary offers are based on a number of factors such as the position’s responsibilities; the candidate’s experience, education, and skills; location; travel required; and current market conditions.
