Job Description

A Senior Tax Accountant with FKCO will enjoy a varied and challenging workload. They will perform a wide variety of diversified accounting, tax and/or audit assignments. They will report directly and work closely with the firm’s partners.

In addition, they will have the following responsibilities:

  • This is a full-time, permanent position
  • Responsible for 30+ clients
  • Prepare and/or Review individual and business returns including appointments with clients
  • Assist with recurring tax planning for clients
  • Assist with audits
  • Record transactions in ledgers; review trial balances and simple financial statements using computer software
  • Perform scheduled computations of accruals, property and equipment, and calculate depreciation expense
  • Assist in proofing financial statements, tax returns and other documents
  • Assist with responses to various taxing agencies
  • Perform QuickBooks Consulting and maintain proficiency with software
  • Perform other accounting and tax duties as needed in engagements and as assigned by Partners
  • Maintain strict confidentiality
  • Participation in community and volunteer organizations is supported and encouraged
  • Network with local business owners and managers to promote FKCO as needed
  • Travel to client sites, meetings and seminars from time to time
  • Provide training and mentorship to Staff Accountants as necessary

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING TO US

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • 5 or more years of experience in public accounting, specifically in the area of tax and audit
  • Experience being the lead contact for multiple clients including leading client meetings
  • Attention to detail, ability to multi-task, prioritize and work under pressure of deadlines
  • Strong communication skills, professionalism and a desire to learn
  • Ability to work independently and be a flexible, team player
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and a willingness to learn many new software applications

Preferred

  • CPA license or working towards CPA license
  • Ability to work overtime mid-January through mid-April and around deadlines if necessary
  • Experience with Quickbooks Online
