Tasting Room Lead – Woodinville, WA
The Woodinville Tasting Room Lead for is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the tasting
room, delivering exceptional guest experiences, overseeing staff performance during shifts, and
maintaining a welcoming and sophisticated atmosphere. This role combines leadership, wine expertise,
exceptional attention to detail, and operational skills to elevate the guest experience and uphold Ackley
Brands company standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Guest Experience:
• Foster a welcoming and memorable environment that delivers exceptional customer service.
• Educate guests on wine selections, food pairings, and tasting notes.
• Handle guest inquiries, concerns, and special requests professionally and efficiently.
Team Leadership:
• Lead and motivate the tasting room team during shifts to ensure smooth operations.
• Conduct pre-shift meetings to review goals, specials, and updates.
• Train and mentor team members in wine knowledge, service standards, and customer
engagement.
Operational Oversight:
• Oversee opening and closing procedures, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and readiness for
service.
• Monitor inventory levels, restock as needed, and communicate supply needs to management.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and alcohol service regulations.
• Encourage upselling of wines, flights, club memberships, and menu items to maximize revenue.
• Assist with cash handling, including register reconciliation and deposit preparation.
Event Support:
• Assist in executing private events, wine tastings, and special promotions hosted at the tasting
room.
• Collaborate with management to refine and implement unique and high-touch guest experiences.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in hospitality, food and beverage, or wine service roles.
• Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of wine, including varietals, regions, and food pairings; certifications (e.g.,
WSET, CMS) are a plus.
Skills:
• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in C7 (or similar POS systems) and basic financial reporting.
Requirements:
• Must be 21 years or older (or meet local legal drinking age).
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs (wine cases) and stand for extended periods.
