Steel Mill Materials Handling Crane Operator

Question for you: Do you navigate an overhead crane with confidence, keep safety top of mind, and thrive on teamwork in a high-energy plant?

What challenges will you tackle?

• Lift, move, and stage heavy materials using an overhead crane and forklift
• Complete and submit equipment inspection reports at the start of each shift
• Flag production issues early, communicate clearly, and help remove bottlenecks
• Keep your workspace orderly—housekeeping is part of the job
• Troubleshoot equipment or process concerns using your know-how and collaboration
• Follow startup, shutdown, and emergency procedures without fail
• Live CMC’s Safety Programs every day and contribute to a strong safety culture

What makes you a great fit?

• Hands-on experience operating an overhead crane; comfortable with forklifts
• Dependable, detail-oriented, and organized; a true team player
• Willing and able to work a rotating schedule, including weekends/holidays, with overtime as needed
• Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and working in environments with temperature extremes, chemicals, dust, fumes/mists, uneven surfaces, high noise, elevated areas, and confined spaces

Education

• High School Diploma or GED required

Strengths and tools

• Proficiencies: Industrial Construction; Equipment Troubleshooting; Heavy Material Handling; Manufacturing environment experience
• Machines: Overhead Crane; Forklifts
