Job Description

Overview:

This job contributes to REI’s success by independently leading and facilitating the development and execution of projects that promote company identity, enhances the REI brand, improves the operations for our store teams and by executes compelling customer experiences.

 

Responsibilities will include working cross-divisionally to identify key partners who are crucial to the success of each project, establish project teams, and provide project management leadership, direction, expertise and execution of the needed work. The Senior Project Manager will use strategic thinking, business acumen and continuous improvement skills to predict, act upon, influence and report out on the various considerations of time, budget and scope that could impact the success of each project. The role will communicate with transparency, working with teams to mentor and direct the execution of the work, ensuring that multiple projects are prioritized and appropriately managed. This role will utilize project management principles to plan for and manage the processes and communications necessary to deliver a portfolio of projects that meet strategic objectives, are delivered on time, within scope and approved budget parameters with a high level of autonomy. 

Responsibilities:
  • Identify appropriate partners and stakeholders from each division, determining the resources needed and the timing of when input and actions are required.
  • Ensure all cross-divisional partners understand the importance of their contributions and are committed to the project success. Coach and mentor project members, drive and support execution of work priorities.
  • Create and manage project timelines.
  • Develop and organize all project-related documentation including: goals and objectives, budget, timeline, project action items, issues, and key decisions.
  • Provide regular status updates to all stakeholders and project team members regarding project scope, budget, timeline, risks, successes and learnings, contributing to and/or leading executive/leadership presentations as needed.
  • Professionally facilitate project team communication through regular meetings and other resources such as SharePoint, while positively motivating team with a sense of fun, camaraderie and celebration of successes.

 

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of project management experience. Demonstrated project management skills, ability to assess resource needs, reporting, budgeting. 
  • 5 years experience planning for medium to large sized cross-divisional, multi-year projects with broad business focus. 
  • In-depth knowledge of retail field. 
  • Working toward or have achieved certification in Project Management. 
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Office. Experience with project management software (e.g. Smartsheet) preferred. 
  • Excellent attention to detail, follow through, and commitment to quality. 
  • Uses business knowledge, innovative thinking, and sound judgment in the solution of problems or the pursuit of business opportunities. 
  • Works smart by setting effective work goals, establishing priorities, and planning well in order to produce quality work. 
  • Executes effectively by using resources efficiently, meeting deadlines, and keeping others informed of work plans and progress toward goals.

Base Pay Range: USD $83,700.00 - USD $134,000.00 /Yr.
