Scrum Master

Immediate opportunity to join our customer, a major Federal Healthcare Insurance provider, in the Reston VA area. We are seeking a seasoned Scrum Master (8+ years), who is certified (SAFe and CSM) and has experience within a software development/AWS Cloud environment, providing / facilitate Sprint estimation, Sprint planning meetings to identify product backlog items to be worked in a sprint and to estimate level of effort of development activities. Responsibilities include:

- Leas multiple cross functional teams, or Agile Release train (ART) guiding them on how to use Agile, Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), Scrum and Lean(e.g. Kanban) values/practices through servant leadership. Creates and nurtures a culture of continuous learning, growth mindset and agile maturity in teams/ART through agile practices, agile mindset, metrics, SAFe guidelines, removes blockers and partners with leadership. Exhibits and permeates the behaviors of a Lean-Agile Leader with a Lean-Agile Mindset.
-Lead daily standup meetings, track progress by keeping the sprint backlog up-to-date, and help to remove impediments
- Supports the team-s/ART's efforts to continuously improve communications and relationships with other teams.
- Conduct an end of sprint review meetings where sprint products are demonstrated to stakeholders.
- Conduct Sprint grooming, provide progress reports including but not limited to meta scrum report/burn-up/burn-down charts/User Story Point updates etc.
- Update Product Backlog Items to include new or revised requirements and backlog item
- Foster collaboration and communication between team members on technical issues, on process improvements, and in addressing and escalating project risks and issues.

Required Skills

- 8+ years of Scrum Master experience. Lean, Agile methodologies including Kanban. Proven success leading multiple Agile teams to agile maturity and improved customer outcomes.
- Two certifications are required: SAFe and CSM
- Agile Release Training (ART) experience/knowledge is required
- Must have SME knowledge of the SDLC process. Proven track record of supporting multiple software development project tracks (Java focused considered a big plus)
- Proven track record of supporting an AWS environment (AWS migration project considered a plus)
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
