Job Description

Our client, a local Nashville grown organization; is in need of a  Payroll Manager . This role will be responsible for the day-to-day payroll activities to include leading the team. 

Payroll Manager Responsibilities:

• Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing
• Handle payroll transactions, including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and deductions
• Process payroll updates promptly, including new hires, terminations, and pay rate changes
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and wage laws
• Prepare and manage union reporting
• Oversee weekly certified payroll and submissions
• Process multi-state payroll tax deposits on schedule
• Manage electronic timesheet processing
• Handle unemployment tax filings
• Perform other tasks and projects as assigned

Payroll Manager Requirements:

• Proven experience with multi-state payroll taxes
• Background in construction payroll, including job costing
• Expertise in certified payroll processes and submissions
• Familiarity with unemployment taxes
• Strong understanding of the impact of benefits on payroll
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Experience with Foundation software is preferred
• Excellent communication, analytical, and technical skills
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• A self-starter with the ability to identify and resolve issues
• Positive, motivational attitude with a commitment to meeting deadlines
• High level of integrity and professionalism
