Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Manager to oversee our client's payroll department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing payroll processes, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, and maintaining accurate payroll records. This role requires strong technical accounting skills and proficiency in payroll systems such as PeopleSoft and Ceridian. The Payroll Manager will collaborate closely with HR and finance teams to ensure seamless operations.

Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring timely and accurate payroll delivery for all employees.
• Perform general ledger reconciliation and maintain accurate records of payroll transactions.
• Oversee data entry processes related to payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial concepts.
• Collaborate with HRIS to ensure employee data is up-to-date and accurately reflected in the payroll system.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures related to payroll management.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and organizational policies regarding payroll practices.
• Provide support during audits by preparing necessary documentation related to payroll processes.
• Train and mentor staff within the payroll department to enhance their skills in accounting and payroll management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
• Proven experience in payroll management, including familiarity with PeopleSoft and Ceridian systems.
• Strong understanding of technical accounting principles and general ledger accounting practices.
• Proficient in data entry with a high level of accuracy.
• Knowledge of HRIS systems is a plus.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills are essential.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while managing multiple priorities.
• Workday software experience required
