Glen Oaks Hospital is a 54-bed private mental health hospital in a relaxed setting in Greenville, Texas. The Medical Records Clerk is responsible for receipt and preparation of all materials related to internal and external correspondence and requests for medical records information. The Medical Records Clerk abstracts and assembles patient discharge records in accordance with established policies and procedures and in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Glen Oaks Hospital.
QualificationsEducation: High school diploma or equivalent. Prefer graduate of an approved school of health information science.
Experience: Prefer one year of medical records experience and/or clerical background. Psychiatric setting is preferred.
Licensure/Certification: N/A
Knowledge: Prefer knowledge of medical, psychiatric and medical records terminology, procedures and functions, confidentiality and release of information laws, clerical skills to include typing 50 wpm and various computer and word processing programs.
