We are currently seeking a Greenhouse Technician to join our team to support day-to-day operations of our greenhouses and controlled environment plant growth spaces in Woodland and Davis, CA. The ideal candidate will be dependable, possess strong attention to detail, be a good communicator and teammate, able to work independently, and have a passion for plants.

Key Responsibilities

• Greenhouse care and maintenance including: cleaning, sweeping, washing pots, sanitizing equipment, and checking irrigation equipment
• Assist with plant care including: preparing soil, filling pots, transplanting, watering, making and applying fertilizer, staking and trellising plants, harvesting and threshing
• Collect and enter data collection related to plant status and location, presence of insects, plant health, and other characteristics
• Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful working environment
• Follow all company policies and procedures and prioritize safety
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform routine maintenance tasks as required

• Collaborate with other team members to improve workflows
• Be reliable by showing up on time and consistently completing work

Requirements

Qualifications and Skills

You may be a great fit for this role if you:

• Are legally authorized to work in the United States
• Have at minimum a high school diploma or equivalent
• Provide own transportation to and from Woodland, CA or Davis, CA and have valid driver's license
• Can read, write, and speak English fluently
• Able to lift and carry at least 50 lbs, do repetitive tasks that can be physically demanding, and stand/walk for long periods of time
• Able to work in ergonomically demanding environments and are comfortable working in a greenhouse where it can be hot and humid
• Are dependable – you show up on time and do the things you say you will do reliably
• Demonstrate strong attention to detail – you like to see things done right
• Are efficient – you work with urgency and don't waste time
• Can follow instructions accurately and ask questions if you don't understand something the first time
• Work effectively in a team setting and maintain respectful relationships with teammates
• Work independently with minimal supervision and stay on-task
• Have basic computer skills including: data entry into spreadsheets and email
• Learn quickly and are resourceful

Additional skills that are preferred:

• Previous experience in greenhouse, nursery, controlled environment agriculture, gardening, or landscaping
• Knowledge of soybean and/or corn cultivation and agronomic practices
• Ability to work weekends
• Experience with electrical and mechanical systems

Benefits

The US hourly range for this position is $20/hour - $25/hour. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
