Job Description

Overview

Center Focused Therapy (CFT) is a group psychotherapy practice located in downtown Chicago dedicated to providing the highest level of intentional, compassionate, and informed care for our diverse client population. CFT is seeking Licensed Professional Counselors and Social Workers who are dedicated to clinical excellence, social justice and their own professional growth.

The fellowship is designed to prepare early-career clinicians for independent practice in both group and private settings. We strive to balance robust training and supervision with increasing autonomy, supporting clinicians as they:

  • Deliver high-quality, intentional psychotherapy
  • Develop expertise in navigating culture, identity-based, and the socio-political influences within a relational framework
  • Maintain the highest ethical and professional standards
  • Cultivate the unique clinical interests, emerging areas of expertise, and business skills for long-term success.

As one of Chicago’s leading experts in diversity training, CFT provides individual, couples, and group services to a wide range of populations. Fellows receive weekly individual supervision with a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, or Licensed Clinical Psychologist and group supervision led by a licensed clinician. Supervisors represent a range of theoretical orientations and incorporate session recordings to enhance feedback and growth. Generally, team members receive feedback from supervisors, as well as other members of the Leadership team, in order to help them develop professionally.

Our team values community, transparency, and authenticity —not just in our client work, but in how we support one another. We foster collaboration through monthly team-building and social activities, biannual staff retreats, and opportunities to attend or present didactic training on current clinical topics. We believe in the value of community and are dedicated to building a collaborative and diverse team that upholds the values of social justice and cultural humility.

The ideal candidate is self-motivated, dedicated to providing services to marginalized populations, self-reflective, open to feedback, and desires to be a long-term member of the team.
