JOB PURPOSE:

The Database Manager will design, implement, and maintain a secure, comprehensive database to track cases and data for the MMDR project. This position ensures data accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with regulations while providing technical support to the project team and stakeholders

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design, implement, and maintain a secure database to track cases and data related to missing and murdered Navajo individuals.
• Ensure data accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with tribal and federal regulations.
• Develop reports and dashboards to support project objectives and decision-making.
• Train staff on database usage and troubleshoot technical issues.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure data needs are met.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in database management and data security.
• Proficiency in database software and programming languages (e.g., SQL).
• Experience working with sensitive information and maintaining confidentiality.

• Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
• Ability to organize and express ideas, directions, and data in a logical sequence to describe a process or explain procedures such as how to perform a task to students workers.
• Ability to present materials effectively to individuals or groups.
• Ability to manage interpersonal conflict situations requiring tact, diplomacy and discretion.
• Ability to work independently and meet strict timelines.
• Ability to oversee the work of student worker.
• Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with the individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds.
• Ability to communicate effectively in the English language.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently sits, stand, walk, bend, stoop, and squat.
• Use hands for dexterity of motion, repetitive movement of both hands.
• Have excellent auditory, visual acuity, and verbal communications skills.
• The employee must occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Work is typically performed within an office.
• Tight time constraints and multiple demands are common.
• Evening and/or weekend work may be required. Extended hours and irregular shifts may be required .
