Assistant Transportation Underwriter Location Hybrid work in Worthington, OH :

Responsibilities:

• Bind and set up policies for issuance.
• Make calls to customers and companies as needed, return calls in a timely manner, and contact company underwriters for assistance on account service issues.
• Maintain daily workflow in ImageRight by analyzing, handling, or forwarding to the underwriting technicians' daily tasks for processing.
• Meet service standard requirements.
• Maintain underwriting knowledge by attending underwriter training meetings provided by JM Wilson and insurance carriers and reviewing company underwriting changes and manual updates.
• Backup others in the department and company by answering phone calls, handling customer service needs, quotes, binding and addressing rush items.
• Quote renewal business by reviewing accounts against acceptability to company underwriting guidelines and rates.
• Quote or decline new business for limited classes of business by evaluating the submissions for acceptability to company underwriting guidelines, including review of applications, websites and loss runs.
• Identify accounts for non-renewal to review with the underwriter for final decision.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Effective time management skills with the ability to handle requests within company guidelines and goals.
• Internal drive to consistently do what's right and serve our customers with excellence.
• Effective organizational skills with the ability to work with multiple interruptions.
• Work in a sitting position for several hours.
• Knowledge of Salesforce and ImageRight software programs is a plus.
• Knowledge of company rating programs preferred.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree is preferred but not required.
• Some experience in the Insurance industry is preferred.
• Pay commensurate with experience level in the industry, as applicable.

Experience:

• Underwriting: 1 year (Preferred)
• Commercial Insurance: 2 years (Preferred)
