Your Role As our Assistant Director, you’ll work hand-in-hand with the Center Director to ensure that each day runs smoothly, staff feel supported, and families feel connected. You’ll play a key leadership role in maintaining quality, compliance, and community spirit. You will: * Support daily center operations including staffing, scheduling, and enrollment * Coach and mentor teachers through observations, feedback, and classroom support * Help ensure Montessori principles and MSDE/OCC standards are met * Build positive relationships with families through open communication * Lead family engagement events, tours, and community activities * Manage records and assist with compliance documentation * Step into the Director’s role when needed to ensure a safe, seamless environment * Support onboarding, professional growth, and staff development Qualifications * MSDE Lead Staff qualification required * Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Early Childhood Education OR90-hour Preschool Certification + 45-hour Director/Admin Course + 3 years of experience * CPR/First Aid, Basic Health & Safety, and 9-Hour Communication Course * Background check and medical clearance required * Leadership or administrative experience in licensed child care preferred * Familiarity with the Montessori approach a plus!
