Overview

Major League Soccer (MLS) seeks innovative, talented and passionate students to contribute to the growth of Soccer in North America.

The Data Engineering Department at MLS is an innovative team that leverages AWS technologies to design and maintain modern data lakehouse architectures. Our primary focus is building robust data pipelines to deliver reliable and actionable data to various teams, including Marketing, Business Intelligence, and others, enabling data-driven insights and decision-making across the organization.

Located at the League Office Headquarters in New York City, the Summer Intern Program is a 10-week program that runs from June 3rd-August 5th.  Interns will be a part of an inclusive culture that encourages teamwork and collaboration, values diversity and promotes creativity.

Responsibilities

• Assist in designing and implementing data pipelines and APIs to support real-time and batch data processing.
• Work on optimizing and automating existing data workflows within the AWS ecosystem.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of the data lakehouse architecture, ensuring data quality and integrity.
• Conduct exploratory data analysis and create documentation to support project deliverables and best practices.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate rising senior
• Recent college graduate
• Currently enrolled in a post-graduate program

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Superior organization, project management skills and attention to detail
• High level of commitment to quality work product and organizational ethics, integrity and compliance
• Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, team environment
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbally
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
• Demonstrated decision making and problem-solving skills
• Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
• Must commit to attend full 10-week program
• Bilingual in Spanish or French a plus

TOTAL REWARDS

Major League Soccer offers an hourly salary of $20 based on a 40-hour work week.
