2024-25 Sociology Lecturer Search

Position Overview:
The annual salary for this position is $68,247.00.

The Department of Sociology at the University of California, Davis, offers temporary Lecturer positions to teach (in person) undergraduate courses during the winter and spring quarters of the 2024-2025 academic year. This is not a remote teaching opportunity, and these positions are dependent upon the instructional needs of the department and may be full- or part-time. Currently we are seeking candidates with teaching expertise in the Sociology of Adolescence. This broad subfield focuses on the historic emergence of adolescence as a distinct life phase, processes of socialization, forces of social control and/or medicalization, intergenerational transmission and change, the influence of peer cultures, the emergence of youth cultures, and cultural representations of adolescence.
APPOINTMENT DATES: Assignments vary according to type of course and percentage of appointment. Service periods are:

Winter Quarter 2025 January 35 - March 21
Spring Quarter 2025 March 27 - June 12

QUALIFICATIONS: Demonstrated experience in teaching at the college level, and advanced degree in Sociology or related discipline is required.

SALARY: This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement (Unit 18). The annual salary rate for this position is $68,247.00, and is commensurate with percentage of appointment.
